The State of Menswear . . .

". . . . I see too many men wearing the same cargo shorts, polo shirts, and hyper-designed
running shoes. Men’s desire to be a member of the group seems to be stronger than their
desire to be individuals, and the dress of the group these days seems to be determined by
the lowest common denominator. Perhaps we are all more homogenized today. Or more frightened
and lonely."

This is a recent quote from Bruce Boyer, former fashion editor at Esquire and Town & Country.
This was included in a interesting interview on http://www.permanentstyle.co.uk/ .
Permanent Style is a great blog covering quality traditional menswear.

Hmm... a quote from Bruce Boyer complaining about a lack of individuality and the hyperlink takes you to an article on "How to Dress Like Bruce Boyer." This is the paradox of fashion.
